Women’s Philanthropy Initiative

About the Initiative

The Women’s Philanthropy Initiative (WPI) seeks to develop women leaders in philanthropy and inspire them to give of their time, talent and resources to support Georgia State University’s goals of positioning itself as a model of academic success for diverse populations and a leader in producing engaged citizens.  WPI was founded by a group of Georgia State alumnae and friends who work to improve the success rate of our students.  They believe there is untapped potential in the power of women to create a stronger and more vital community by supporting Georgia State’s transformational goals.  By supporting the WPI, you can:

  • Be part of a network of women philanthropists committed to supporting Georgia State University as a dynamic and accessible teaching and research community
  • Make a significant positive impact on the student community through targeted financial and volunteer support
  • Engage with students through mentoring and other opportunities

Funding Priorities Make a Gift

WPI’s vision is to help students reach their goals by bridging their financial gaps.  Unmet financial need is one of the leading challenges to graduation at Georgia State.   We ask you to join us as we invest in Georgia State students, their families, the Atlanta community and beyond with:

  • Supporting  Keep Hope Alive scholarships
  • Funding Panther Retention Grants

While we encourage support of the WPI funds university-wide, your gift can also be directed to a designated college or department.
