The location and diversity were my reasons for choosing Georgia State.
What does being a first-generation student mean to you and your family?
It means setting an example for my younger siblings to strive for greatness and to know there is more to life than what our family has been accustomed to.
Please share a few interesting facts about yourself:
- I’ve been to 40 of the 50 states.
- I am the second oldest of eight kids.
- Have a love for music and art.
Have you encountered any significant challenges that have affected your ability to attend college?
Financial challenges continue, but I am determined to complete my degree.
What has receiving the Women’s Philanthropy Initiative Scholarship meant to you?
Receiving it meant that I was able to pay for an entire semester of classes, which was a tremendous help.
