WHO WE ARE
We’re the No. 1 ranked public university in the country for our commitment to teaching.
A Personalized Approach
State support, student tuition and fees cover less than two-thirds of the resources needed to deliver Georgia State’s high-quality education at an affordable cost. Private giving is often the difference in doing or not doing, exploring or not exploring, discovering or not discovering, solving or not solving.
A Personalized Approach
A PERSONAL SUCCESS PLAN FOR EVERY STUDENT.
Although we’re home to more than 51,000 students across our six campuses, our academic achievement tools and advanced technology mean we can provide something most universities of our size can’t: a personal success plan for every student. You’ll have the freedom to experience undergraduate life fully with the peace of mind that we’ll never let you lose sight of why you’re here.
The Georgia State University Foundation
We invite our students, alumni, faculty and staff, corporations, philanthropic foundations, and friends to explore the many ways to give to Georgia State. These ways include gifts of cash, securities, real estate, life insurance policies, matching gifts, and honorary gifts. Every gift is vital to the continued success of Georgia State.
#2 MOST INNOVATIVE INSTITUTION IN THE NATION
There’s a reason we’re the No. 2 most innovative institution in the nation (on the shortlist with MIT and Stanford). We work daily to cement our reputation as an agent of change and an engine for growth, providing you with opportunities to advance that effort. With collaborative spaces and programs like the virtual reality demo lab inside our multimillion-dollar Creative Media Industries Institute (Opens in New Tab), we encourage play, experimentation and creativity.
Entrepreneurship
Our students are enterprising, creative individuals with fresh perspectives, and we champion that. We’re one of few universities to offer a bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship. With a minor option available, too, you can build business savvy for a career across any major via the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute. Students can also pursue a bachelor’s degree in social entrepreneurship.
On campus, you’ll have access to a number of creative spaces to develop your skills and promote your own ideas. Our E-House Living Learning Community connects industrious students through housing, workshops, competitions, networking and access to technology. And LaunchGSU acts as an incubator for student innovation for startup businesses.
Student Success Initatives
Georgia State has proven students from all backgrounds can succeed at high rates. Our efforts over the past few years show dramatic gains are indeed possible—not through changing the nature of the students served but through changing the nature of the institution that serves them. How has Georgia State made these gains? How do we propose to reach our ambitious future targets? In one sense, the answer is simple. We employ a consistent, evidenced-based strategy based on the following student-centered initiatives:
Annual Programs
Annual giving provides alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends with the opportunity to make yearly contributions to the university.
Women's Philanthropy Network
The group believes there is untapped potential in the power of women to create a stronger and more vital community by supporting Georgia State’s transformational goals.
GSU Fund For Excellence
The GSU Fund for Excellence provides unrestricted, university-wide support to ensure our scholarship programs, learning and research resources and outreach programs are consistently up-to-date and world-class.
