Sustained Giving

Make an enduring gift that supports Georgia State in perpetuity by creating an endowed fund.
The following guidelines are minimums gift requirements for common types of named endowments; some units may establish higher guidelines.
- Scholarships, general funds and undergraduate scholarships require a minimum gift of $25,000 for $1,000 in annual scholarship support.
- Graduate fellowships require a minimum gift of $25,000 for partial support—a gift of $100,000 is suggested. Full support requires a minimum gift of $1,000,000.
- Lectureships or speaker series require a minimum gift of $50,000.
- A distinguished scholar award requires a minimum gift of $100,000.
- Professorships require a minimum gift of $500,000; distinguished professorships require a minimum gift of $1,000,000.
- Chairs require a minimum gift of $1,000,000.
- Distinguished university chairs, department heads and deanships require a minimum gift of $2,000,000.
- Naming a college or school requires a commitment to the area’s general endowment and will vary by college.

- The Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) manages relationships and coordinates proposals to major corporations and foundations. CFR facilitates mutually beneficial collaborations, partnerships and sponsorships in areas such as philanthropy, sponsored research, student recruitment, technology transfer and continuing education. The GSU Foundation can accept gifts of real estate allowing you to make a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the property. The Foundation may also elect to accept gifts of tangible personal property and will provide the donor with a tax deduction for the appraised value of the gift on the date the gift is made. - The Foundation will send an acknowledgement to the person being recognized or to the family of the person being memorialized, informing them of your kindness.
