About the College
Perimeter College is an associate-degree-granting college within Georgia State University and is the major provider of associate degrees and student transfer opportunities in the state of Georgia. Perimeter is a gateway to higher education, easing students’ entry into college-level study, while providing high-achieving students access to a strong Honors College.
More than 17,000 students, representing a wide range of ages and backgrounds, are enrolled in Perimeter College. The college is among the top servers of dual enrollment and freshman students in the University System of Georgia and prepares more students for transfer than any other USG institution.
More than 650 military students and veterans find support at Perimeter through the university’s military outreach services, with outreach centers based on every campus. The university is ranked No. 1 in the country by Military Friendly website for its support of military-connected students.
With more than 2,100 international students from 130 countries, the college provides a culturally diverse atmosphere that enriches learning. Robust tutoring centers on every campus promote academic success for all students.
Courses are offered online and at five campuses, with options to earn associate degrees in more than 30 academic pathways. Students who successfully complete their studies can graduate with an associate of science or an associate of arts degree and transition into another college at Georgia State to complete their bachelor’s degree or transfer to another university.
The college also offers programs—nursing, dental hygiene and radiologic technology—in which students are prepared for immediate careers.
Campuses conveniently located in DeKalb, north Fulton and Newton counties provide students attending Perimeter College active environments offering a wide range of opportunities. Clubs and organizations, student life events and health and wellness programs round out the college experience.
Funding Priorities
Scholarships
Private gifts to the Perimeter College Fund promote student success. Through scholarships, donors help Perimeter College students cover the costs of tuition, fees, books and other educational expenses. Support often allows students to study more instead of working jobs to cover costs.
The Perimeter College Fund offers merit-based, need-based and service-based scholarships for our students. Scholarships may be annual, recurring gifts or they may be endowed to create a permanent source of funding. Donors can establish scholarships as a way to honor or memorialize someone who has made a difference in his or her life, or create an opportunity for an organization to expand its community outreach.
Scholarships invest in human capital by benefitting students as they prepare to affect the lives of others. Your gifts will help transform the lives of students for generations to come.
Programs
Students are the focus and beneficiaries when you contribute to program support at Perimeter College.
Funding for programs allows students to study abroad and attend conferences. It provides student activities and student study arrangements and can give students a temporary financial lifeline through transition funds.
Program support provides life-changing experiences for our students and builds a foundation for their success.
Faculty
The Perimeter College experience is known for its small class sizes and easy access to professors, who inspire and guide students in their studies. Faculty support is an important link in providing Perimeter students the quality learning opportunities they have come to expect.
Through gifts toward faculty support, members of our teaching community can participate in development programs, attend conferences, bring lecturers to campus and make technology and facility improvements that will continue to provide students with enriched instruction that represents the forefront of higher education.
